Dr. Wood grew up in Denton, Texas. She attended the University of Texas at Austin for her undergraduate education before moving to Galveston, Texas, for medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch.
She completed her pediatric residency at Miami Children’s hospital, where she developed an interest in pediatric gastroenterology. She completed her fellowship training in pediatric gastroenterology at McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas at Houston.
Dr. Wood enjoys pediatric gastroenterology because it allows her to care for children from infancy to early adulthood. She enjoys working with families to treat the full spectrum of gastrointestinal conditions ranging from common problems like childhood constipation and reflux to more complex illnesses like inflammatory bowel disease. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, visiting Galveston Beach and eating Mexican food.
