Dr. Wood grew up in Denton, Texas. She attended the University of Texas at Austin for her undergraduate education before moving to Galveston, Texas for medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch. She completed her pediatric residency at Miami Children’s hospital where she developed an interest in pediatric gastroenterology. She completed her fellowship training in pediatric gastroenterology at McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas at Houston.
Dr. Wood enjoys pediatric gastroenterology because it allows her to care for children from infancy to early adulthood. She enjoys working with families to treat the full spectrum of gastrointestinal conditions ranging from common problems like childhood constipation and reflux to more complex illnesses like inflammatory bowel disease. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, visiting Galveston beach and eating Mexican food.
He established Kids GI Kare with the aim of providing patients with the best care possible and keeping the parents well-informed about the unique medical needs of their kids, giving them the time and attention to discuss their questions and worries.
He also strives to create a relaxed and friendly ambiance environment where kids feel more comfortable and capable of addressing their concerns. Dr. Baraa Alrazzak is so passionate and dedicated to improving the health of his patients and is always willing to discuss any health-related unease they might have.
She is a pediatric nurse practitioner with 14 years of experience in pediatric gastroenterology, subspecializing in GI motility. Her areas of expertise include abdominal pain, constipation, gastroparesis, failure to thrive and obesity.
She is also trained in clinical hypnosis and has over ten years of experience teaching hypnosis to children and adults for the management of abdominal pain.
Her expertise encompasses the treatment of various pediatric gastroenterology issues in children, ranging from gastroesophageal reflux to constipation, eosinophilic esophagitis, liver diseases, celiac disease, and inflammatory bowel disease, among others.
Her medical journey began at Ross University, where she pursued her medical degree. Dr. Aslam furthered her education and training by completing her pediatric residency at the University of South Alabama, followed by a prestigious pediatric gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Iowa.
Outside of her demanding profession, Dr. Aslam is a devoted mother to three beautiful children. Her cherished moments are spent bonding with her family, participating in enjoyable activities like biking, swimming, and exploring new destinations through travel. She also finds solace and fulfillment in hobbies such as gardening, baking, and the practice of yoga during her precious moments of free time. Dr. Aslam’s multifaceted life showcases her unwavering commitment to both her career and her loved ones.
